Qualifications

• College Diploma in Agriculture (C.D.A.) Lancashire College of Agriculture (1961)
• National Diploma in Agriculture (N.D.A.) Royal Agricultural Society of England (1961)

John has over 40 years of agricultural experience involving tropical cropping systems, the commercial production of a variety of cash crops and industry extension and technical program management.

After a successful career with the Queensland Department of Primary Industries (QDPI), during which he was awarded the distinguished Public Service Medal for outstanding service, he took retirement from the position of senior district advisor, and has since pursued a variety of consulting projects. These have included work in China, Brunei and Malaysia on behalf of both private companies and international agencies.

John has been involved in numerous crop loss surveys in addition to major crop failure investigations and being based in Atherton, has responsibility for the Group’s operations in what is classified as the Northern Region.
